Is It Really Over?

The activities and responsibilities leading up to Christmas were cause for my failing to provide the Preparing for Worship offering last week.

For those of you who looked for it and wondered what happened - "It's me! It's me, O Lord, standing in the need of prayer!"

This Sunday - the 1st Sunday after Christmas, is also the last Sunday of 2008.
Emily Burke will reading the scriptures from Philippians 1:3-11 for the 1st lesson, and Philippians 3:7-14 for the 2nd lesson.

Kim & Betsy worked very hard with the Children's Bell Choir for the Children's Christmas Program last Sunday evening, so we thought the
little ones should "C'mon and ring them bells" again this Sunday.  They are delightful!

I'll be sharing during the Children's Moments the question - "Is it Really Over?"

As there will be no "official" sermon this week - I'll be down front (as is my custom on the last Sunday of the year) to help us consider the meditation titled
"Leaving / Living / Looking".

We will continue singing Christmas music this week during worship - because even though retailer think that Christmas is now a thing of the past - the church
does not.

I hope your Christmas Day celebration was blessed and inspired.  The Christmas Eve Candlelight Service was attended by 84 people in spite of the rain.

Let's join together this Sunday and remember that "the gift goes on, and the gift goes on and on and on...!"

With great heart,
Pastor Jon
